DO NOT GIVE UP

Do not give up.

Often, many of us, especially leaders,

feel that there are so many CHALLENGES / PROBLEMS in life.

Challenges at home, in school, at workplace.

Challenges with yourself, friends, parents, teachers, others...

How big are your problems compared with Nick,

the person who was born without arms and legs???

If he does not give up,

and he CHOOSES to make his life USEFUL and MEANINGFUL.

How about YOU? What will you CHOOSE to lead your life?

PERSPECTIVE. VISION. CHOICES.

How are you???

How is everyone?

Hope you all are preparing for the CIP @ Blangah Rise Primary.
(Mr Kek will be meeting up with you all very soon.. if not, go look for him!)

Please remember that in this CIP, you will be

MOULDING THE FUTURE OF THE NATION...

What do I mean?

Since you are going to teach the younger ones in primary school,
what you do is like what you do to the clay...

you will be moulding them the way you wish they will be...

they will be very good if you teach them well.

(like you have a good pottery if you put in effort in moulding it)

So, your job is very sacred and important.

Do remember to do your best in teaching them.

Teach them to be useful, teach them to be good.

Go NACLI Leaders from Henderson!  We believe you can.

Mr Tse :)

REAL TEST for Sec 2

Dearest Sec 2 CCA leaders,

How are you all?  Kinda miss your smiley faces.

OK here is an important assignment for all of you.

As you read the post I have put up at hsslife, one of the visions that I have is to have a cyber community that connect as many Hendersonsians together as possible.  This will lead to many wonderful things in the future, such as spreading news, seeking support and offering opportunities to ex-hss / hss kids/staff/personnel.

I would like to give you this task of ensuring ALL of your classmates will join HSS @ FB.

This project is to test your leadership skills (e.g. persuade them to create an account and join it?  explaining to them why it is important? others...???).

Also, it is a test to see which class has the best TEAMWORK.

Earlier on, 2E2 and 2N1 had some issue about which class had the best class spirits.  And my response to that is that there is no point talking about it.  You all have to SHOW it.

So, here is the chance for ALL SEC 2 to SHOW!

We will see which class will have ALL classmates in the namelist under HSS FB first!!!

SEE YOUR CLASS THERE!!!

PS: msn me when you have checked all your classmates are in HSS FB namelist, ok?
then i will announce at hsslife which class is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc...

Is it 2E1? 2E2? 2E3? 2E4? 2N1? 2N2? or 2T1???

You play at important role in building a kingdom for HSS @ FB.

Do it with purpose, faith and energy, ok???

I BELIEVE you all can.  You must BELIEVE in yourselves too!

Mr Tse YF :)

THANK YOU!!!

Thank you, NACLI 2009, for the photo taking session today!

So
punctual,
prime and proper,
on task,
happy,
positive,
obedient,
fun-loving,
everything!!!

You people ROCK :)
esp..
NPCC who was the first to get ready,
and ALL NPCC handed in the reflections!

Photos will be sent to your CCA blogs once
we got them from Mr Felix (many thks to him!)

About your wonderful reflections... some need to re-do as
they wrote about what HAPPENED ONLY... not so much about
WHAT THEY LEARNT.

Hmm, you need to tell me what you have LEARNT,
not what you did (e.g the meals are nice, at 7am we had parade, etc).

Will blog here the names of those who have to write again...

Those who have not submitted the work, Tue, RECESS time.

If not... EARTHQUAKE with the CLASS REP.

I MEAN IT.

* time to be serious, be serious *
* time to be strict, be strict *

Reflections

What is leadership to you?
- what qualities should a leader have?
- what kind of leader do you think you are?
- what do you think you are short of as a leader?
- do you prefer to lead or to follow? why / why not?
- is leadership a easy path?  why / why not?

Leading in school
- is leadership important in school? why / why not?
- how do your different teachers lead your class? compare.
- which teachers are good leaders to you?  why?
- what do you think you need to work on as a leader?
- what will you suggest to upgrade the leadership in school?
- what will you do to lead the school from now?
- what kind of challenges do you face as a leader?
- what kind of success do you make as a leader in school?
- how will you work with other leaders as a team?
- how will you deal with difficult pupils in school from now?

Learning in NACLI
- what did you all do?
- what did you all learn?
- what challenges did you face? (e.g. shyness, new friends, teamwork)
- how did you overcome them, if you did?
- what were the happiest moments?
- what were the saddest moments?
- what would you do differently if you could turn back the clock?
- what did you feel were your weakness as a leader?
- what did you feel were your strengths as a leader?
- what games did you play and what did you learn from them?

Teaching as Seniors
- how will you guide your juniors in 2010?
- what will you all do to lead the juniors in prefects / cca / school / class?
- if you need to teach juniors to be leaders, what will you do?

Thinking Questions
- every child is a leader.  Discuss.
- leaders are born, not nurtured.  True or False?
- as long as you get the things done, we do not care how you do it.  right or wrong?
- different leaders lead differently.  use some teachers as examples.
- what will you do when there is a difficult decision for you to make?
- what will you do when many say NO to your decision even though it is a right decision?
- why is mr tse the best pe teacher in school?

Hi Everyone!

Today is the 2nd day of the camp... when i talked to Eng Kiat.
He told me you all had a lot of fun @ NACLI. :P

While I am happy for you,
I shall "TORTURE" you further by giving you a few tasks
after you come back from the camp.

1) please check hsslife and school website
for news about school reopening

2) please write a 500-words reflection
on what you have done and learnt in the camp

3) please submit the reflection to me PERSONALLY
before Friday @ PE room (leave it in my pigeon hole)

4) Those who do not hand in will STAY BACK
on Friday afternoon to write it,
PLUS another 200 word reflection to explain
why you cannot hand it the work... * evil look *

7 Class Reps,

Please make sure all your Class Members get this message.

Hmm... You will stay back as well on Friday
for ANYONE who do not hand in work before Friday...
* more evil look *

STRICTLY NO COPYING
* if caught, another 200-word reflection *

I did not say it is EASY to be a leader, right?

CIP 2008 (Basketball)

Our basketball girls showed their compassion for others by making "get well" cards for the patients in the Singapore General Hospital. They made 200 cards and distributed them to the sickly over there. Many of the girls realized that not all of us in Singapore are as healthy and active as them. In their visit, they also talked to some of the patients to brighten up their days. In short, it was an eye-opening and enriching experience for all the girls. Well done, basketball girls!
