What do I mean?

Since you are going to teach the younger ones in primary school,

what you do is like what you do to the clay...

you will be moulding them the way you wish they will be...

they will be very good if you teach them well.

(like you have a good pottery if you put in effort in moulding it)

So, your job is very sacred and important.

Do remember to do your best in teaching them.

Teach them to be useful, teach them to be good.

Dearest Sec 2 CCA leaders,

How are you all? Kinda miss your smiley faces.

OK here is an important assignment for all of you.

As you read the post I have put up at hsslife, one of the visions that I have is to have a cyber community that connect as many Hendersonsians together as possible. This will lead to many wonderful things in the future, such as spreading news, seeking support and offering opportunities to ex-hss / hss kids/staff/personnel.

I would like to give you this task of ensuring ALL of your classmates will join HSS @ FB.

This project is to test your leadership skills (e.g. persuade them to create an account and join it? explaining to them why it is important? others...???).

Also, it is a test to see which class has the best TEAMWORK.

Earlier on, 2E2 and 2N1 had some issue about which class had the best class spirits. And my response to that is that there is no point talking about it. You all have to SHOW it.

So, here is the chance for ALL SEC 2 to SHOW!

We will see which class will have ALL classmates in the namelist under HSS FB first!!!

PS: msn me when you have checked all your classmates are in HSS FB namelist, ok?

Today is the 2nd day of the camp... when i talked to Eng Kiat.

He told me you all had a lot of fun @ NACLI. :P

While I am happy for you,

I shall "TORTURE" you further by giving you a few tasks

after you come back from the camp.

1) please check hsslife and school website

for news about school reopening

2) please write a 500-words reflection

on what you have done and learnt in the camp

3) please submit the reflection to me PERSONALLY

RECRUITMENT FOR 2009 SEC 2 PUPILS for the Leadership Training Camp is ON!!!

Day : Mon, Tue, Wed

Who: 60 Sec 2 CCA leaders-to-be

Venue: NACLI

Activities: Team building Games, Discussion, Presentation, Performing Night, etc

Course Details: What is Leadership? How to organize a CIP? What is Teamwork?

The course will cost $260 and the school will fully subsidize.

After you have completed your training, you MUST organize a CCA-based CIP in term 3.

CIP 2008 (Basketball)

Our basketball girls showed their compassion for others by making "get well" cards for the patients in the Singapore General Hospital. They made 200 cards and distributed them to the sickly over there. Many of the girls realized that not all of us in Singapore are as healthy and active as them. In their visit, they also talked to some of the patients to brighten up their days. In short, it was an eye-opening and enriching experience for all the girls. Well done, basketball girls!

CIP 2008 (NCC)

Our NCC cadets organized a fund-raising project for the Society for the Physically Disabled. They collected many hand-made items from SPD and sold them during recess times. The beautiful items were well-received by the pupils and they simply touched the hearts of many in school.

CIP 2008 (GB)

Our GB gals organized a fun-and-games day at APEX Rehabilitation Centre for the old folks. They led the elderly in the stretching exercises, after which they played a lot of games with them to brighten up their days. The gals also prepared and gave out some gifts to the senior citizens as the surprise for the day. In short, the gals learnt much more about compassion and respect in the CIP, when they showed their love towards the people who once contributed to Singapore during their younger days.

CIP 2008 (NCDCC)

Our NCDCC cadets served the community by cleaning up the West Coast Park on Friday morning. 30 plus of them enjoyed the CIP trip tremendously as they could build rapport with their CCA mates while taking care of the environment in Singapore. After the project was done, all of them realized the importance of keeping the earth clean and healthy. Well done, NCDCC!

CIP 2008 (NPCC)

Our NPCC cadets celebrated our National Day in a different way this year. They initiated a new CCA CIP named "Celebrate National Day Together With Compassion". All the cadets from Sec 1,2,3 went to the households in the neighbourhood to collect canned food for the old folks at APEX Rehabilitation Centre. All the canned food will be packed nicely as hampers to be given out as the Natiaonl Day gifts for the elderly. Our cadets were truly motivated in executing this project and in total, 200 plus canned food were collected.

CIP 2008 (Choir)

Our choir pupils went to the MILK AND HONEY Child Care Centre to do their CIP. They taught the kids how to draw, paint and read. They also played games with the kids to make them happy! In short, all the choir members and the kids at the centre had a lot of fun on the CIP day. Well done, Choir!!!

CIP 2008 (Band)

Our fun-loving band members went to East Coast Park to do their CIP - Beach Cleaning. They worked as a team and cleaned up all the litter at the shore. From the activities, they also learnt more about the importance of recycling and care for the environment. Well done, Band!!!

CIP 2008 (Boys' Brigade)

40 boys from The Boys Brigade 79th Coy participated in BB CARES at Dover. On that day, our boys played games, showed a skit, sang along with the elderly and helped to do spring cleaning for some of the elderly. It was a great experience as our boys learned more about taking care of the elderly.
